What this Website is all about

I'm Danel. I study International Business in Groningen, and I build things on the side, mostly websites. Some of that is client work and some of it is just me wanting to know how something works and not stopping until I've built one myself.

This site is where all of it lives. There's a résumé, because people ask for one, and a page of projects. The part I actually care about is the notes, which is where I write down whatever I'm thinking about at the time.

I'm not posting on a schedule and I'm not trying to build an audience. It's more that I never quite understand an idea until I've had to explain it to somebody, and anything I don't write down I end up forgetting. In practice that means business and finance, AI and IT, and now and then politics, when it runs into the rest of it.

From September to February I'll be at Waseda University in Tokyo, on exchange at the School of Political Science and Economics, so a lot of what I write between now and the spring will probably come out of that. I've visited the city before but never lived in it, and studying business somewhere that goes about it differently seems worth writing down while it's still unfamiliar to me.

Alongside all that I run Axiom Digital (axiomdigital.nl), where I build websites and help smaller businesses get the digital side of things in order. Most of that work is unglamorous, but the parts of it worth keeping will end up here too.

The books, series and music on the about page are there because I like them, and for no better reason than that.

Have a look around, or go straight to the projects.
